UV + Heat Index
Thailand UV index is 11+ most of the year — that's "extreme" on the WHO scale. Sunburn in 15 min for fair skin. This tool gives you SPF need, water need, and the safe outdoor window.
Setup
What this solves
Whether SPF 30 is enough, when to drink water, and when to skip outdoor midday.
How to read
- UV index 11+: extreme. SPF 50+ mandatory. Reapply every 2 hours.
- Heat index combines temp + RH. Bangkok April can feel like 45 °C.
- Water need: 2–3 L per day for active outdoor. Add electrolytes for > 35 °C feel.
Limitations
- Cloud cover reduces UV by 30–50%, not 100%. Overcast days still burn.
- Water reflects UV (beach = 25% more exposure).
- Pai elevation = cooler air but UV is stronger at altitude.
